Requirements for showing in the Rabbit Project at the Anoka County Fair- 2007 1. All exhibitors must be enrolled in the rabbit project by enrollment deadline. 2. All rabbits are required to have a new "Minnesota 4-H Rabbit Ownership Affidavit" (RIDA Revised 2007) on file at the Extension Office by May15th of the current year. This form must be verified by a member of the Anoka County Rabbit Verifying team. 3. All rabbits must be permanently and legibly tattooed in the animal’s left ear. This tattoo must correspond to the animal identified on the ownership affidavit for that exhibitor’s family. 4. All rabbits must be owned by May 15th of the current year. For a fryer or meat pen, the 4-H’er must own the doe producing the fryers by May 15th. 5. If a 4-H’er cannot own their own rabbit, breeding rabbits may be leased. Fryers and meat pens cannot be leased. 4-H’ers exhibiting leased animals must present a copy of the lease agreement on the back side of the “Minnesota 4-H Rabbit Ownership Affidavit” (RIDA Revised 2007 by May 15th) 6. Nothing under 70 days old will be accepted except fryers. 7. All rabbits must be pre-registered for the County Fair by the registration deadline (July 2, 2007) 8. All 4-H’ers completing 6 grade and over are required to have completed the appropriate level of the Livestock Ethics Training within the last 3 years. 9. All rabbit posters must be pre-registered by the registration deadline and be checked in at the rabbit barn ONLY from 10:00- 11:00 AM on entry day. Exhibitor must be present for judging during the rabbit show. 10. All exhibitors must check their rabbits in at the rabbit check-in table ONLY between 10:00-11:00 AM on entry day. 11. All exhibitors will participate in a brief interview about the rabbit project between 10:00-11:30 AM on entry day. 12. Showmanship is MANDATORY for all exhibitors. Sign up for appropriate Showmanship lot on entry form (Showmanship is included with the Cloverbud class). 13. Each exhibitor will carry their own rabbit to the judging table and show it while it is being judged. An adult or responsible youth leader must carry a Cloverbud’s rabbit to the judging table and remain behind the Cloverbud during judging, in the event assistance with the rabbit is needed. 14. Rabbits must stay in assigned cages in the rabbit barn during the entire rabbit encampment and be picked up and their cage area cleaned during the designated check out time. 15. Breed must be included on pre-registration form. * Exhibitors and animals which do not meet the above requirements will receive no higher than a blue ribbon and will not be eligible for the State Fair Line Up. Items 1-8 must be fulfilled to be permitted to show at the Anoka County Fair. * State Fair Trip winners must have met the above requirements plus: - Crossbred rabbits are not eligible for State Fair trips, only Purebred rabbits are eligible. - The 4-H’er must have completed 6th grade or higher by the spring of the current year and be currently enrolled in 4-H.
